The #1 Way To Bet At the Dog Track

Everyone wants to get the most money for every bet they make at the dog track. The best way to do this is by picking bets that you’re good at making. Another way to do this is by only betting when you really feel that the dogs you’ve picked have a very good chance of making the board.

Of course, there are some facts of betting that you can’t ignore at the dog track.

* You can’t get rich betting Win, Place and Show bets
* Trifectas pay well, but don’t come in as often
* Quinielas are easier to hit but don’t pay as well as trifectas, usually
* The best bet is the one you’re the best at handicapping for

If you bet a lot of money on a dog to Win at the dog track, it’s likely to lower the payout significantly. Because attendance has fallen in the last few years, there just isn’t the big pool of Win money that there used to be. Nowadays, the big money is in the trifecta and superfecta pools.

Of course, at most tracks, you can’t bet a trifecta in every race. It’s also harder to handicap trifectas, so most bettors don’t hit as many of them. This is why it’s harder to make money just betting trifectas.

The best payoff, as far as I’m concerned, is the quiniela bet. True, it doesn’t pay as much as a trifecta. But if you hit four $20 quinielas with 3-dog quiniela boxes and that’s all you bet on a program, you’ve made $56.

Before you scoff at such a low profit, consider what would happen if you doubled up on those bets. Now, you’ve made $112, which is a nice little sum to take home at the end of the day. Consider also that many quinielas pay more than $20. Some pay much more if you get a longshot in there.

If you can get to the point where your greyhound handicapping is good enough to pick just four quinielas on a program, you have yourself a betting system that will consistently make a profit. Now, that’s the best bet anyone could want.
