#1 Easy Way To Bet On Dogs

Welcome back!

A bad day at the dog track is still better than a good day at work in my opinion. Like most bettors, I have days when I can’t seem to pick a dog to save my life and I go home with less than I went there with. It’s discouraging.

But because I have a good system and many year’s experience at the track, I don’t have many days where I don’t make a profit. It wasn’t always this way though.

When I first started going to the greyhound track back in the 70′s, I only went once in awhile and I only went “for fun.” However, it didn’t take me long to learn that losing is NO fun. Luckily, I had mentors who showed me how to bet in the easiest way possible with the highest chance for a good return.

The first bet I learned was the quiniela bet. Almost anyone, even someone who has no experience at betting, can pick a quiniela with a little practice – if they use four dogs and box them. Think about it. That’s half the dogs in a race!

True, it’s a $12 bet, but most quinielas return at least twice that amount, so you have a good chance of doubling your money. If you do, you’ll have the money to bet two more boxes without spending any more money. How easy is that?

One mistake that many new bettors make is to play show bets, because they figure they have three chances of winning. After all, if the dog they pick wins, places or shows, they cash their ticket. What they’re not thinking about is that show bets almost never pay enough to cover even one loss.

If you play show bets in every race, you’re almost bound to lose. All you have to do is hit a couple of very small ones and then have your dogs run out of the money a couple of times and you’re way behind.

It’s much better to stick with quiniela bets, but only in races where you really think your four dogs have a chance. Stay away from races where the dogs are too evenly matched or so bad that you can’t begin to tell which ones will win and which ones will run ten lengths behind.

There’s nothing wrong with taking the easy way when you’re betting on dogs, especially if you only go to the track once in awhile. Of course, if you find yourself going more than once in awhile, maybe it’s time to get serious and get yourself a good handicapping system.

It may not be as easy, but it can make you more money than the easier methods that beginning handicappers use. When you get to where easy bets are boring, take the next step and see if it doesn’t make a little work worthwhile when you cash more tickets and make more money than you did with the easy way of betting.
